How exercising helps with mental health

I hope all of you are doing well. Staying home is mentally affecting all of us in some way or the other. The amount of pressure the mind is dealing with is undecipherable. Today we are going to talk about how exercising can keep us mentally healthy.

In such an extreme situation, we need to do all those things that can help us stay fit. Both physically and mentally. A few months back, I was at home preparing for my entrance exams. I had been home for long going through exam pressure and, this affected me. I got into being fit and, it changed me.

In this blog, I would like to let you all know that it is okay to be not okay. And how fitness can help you out in tackling your mind.

The body releases the hormone dopamine when your body experiences pleasure. That is why people are addicted to their phones, texts from friends, likes on their social media and, etc. The body releases dopamine while you are exercising too. Isn’t that much better than being addicted to your phone or social media? The dopamine will keep you happy and work on your mental health.

The amount of sleep you get is directly proportional to your mental health. Exercises make your body tired and, in turn, you sleep well. Studies show that sleep deprivation can affect you in ways you can not imagine.


Before I got into being fit, I was under-confident. I had so many physical and health problems. All of this affected my head. I knew that I had to make a change. I joined a CrossFit class and started exercising regularly. The initial phase killed me. After a few weeks, my stamina went up and, my health improved. I was soon out of my mental pressure phase. So, focus on your health. Reduce the pressure on your mind.
